Government of Canada Y2K Transition Briefing

~snip~.... There are some incidents now that may or may not be Y2K related. For example, Japanese officials have reportedly said that the minor problems with two of the nuclear power plants could be related to the Y2K problem. Our head of mission in Spain reported minor unrelated incidents at two Spanish nuclear plants, both of which evidently have been fixed. Some of Canadas missions are reporting problems that are most likely not Y2K related. In Ghana for example telephone services are disrupted but this is most likely as a result of upgrades to the telephone exchanges in the capital city by Ghana Telecom. Our chancery in Accra, Ghana is also experiencing some power difficulties if you will that may require the high commission to switch over to its generator. Again, this is not clear if this is a Y2K related problem. .... ~snip~
