WEBMASTER, This is a threat:

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

"Re: Over my dead body!

Seems like an acceptable outcome to me if that's the way YOU want it!"

-- (zowie@hotmail.com), February 13, 2000.

Please take this threat seriously, like you say you will in the intro. to this forum (ie: contact the FBI, delete all zowie posts, etc.)

I'm not saying this out of spite for zowie or anyone else; just looking out for everyone's security and peace of mind.

Bull****

Actually, this was cribbed from what the giant cockroach said in "Men in Black." Edgar said the cockroach could have his rifle when he pried it from his cold dead bosy, or words to that effect. Do you really think I was going to make an Edgar-suit out of this guy? You don't get out much, do you. Like they told Dan Quayle, Murphy Brown is a FICTIONAL character. So was the cockroach, unless you are REALLY into conspiracy theories.

But seriously, if someone would rather DIE than allow an initiative to become law, after it has received the appropriate number of signature to get on the ballot (if it does) and has received a MAJORITY of the votes necessary to become law, that's their CHOICE. I didn't imply I'd off the idiot, simply that if the democratic process was something he couldn't live with it was OK with me if he died. It still is. Not a threat. Merely a statement of fact. If he would rather lay down on the train tracks and die than let that happen, I wouldn't stop him. We all make choices, and that apparently is his.

Should I decide to threaten someone, I assure you it will not be so subtle as to be amenable to misinterpretation.

Gee let me review the bidding:

One individual states that they would be willing to lay down their life to stop a democratic process. The other says he(she?) doesn't much care if the first one lives or dies, at least not sufficiently to change how they feel regarding their participation in the democratic process.

And Mr/Ms Gerards takes issue with the SECOND person?

Seems like the threat was made by the party of the first part, IMHO, not zowie.

Sounds to me like Gerards would be a good fit for the Federal Way School Board. Aren't they the one that wanted to kick the kid out for a year because he had a three-quarter inch plastic GI Joe gun in his backpack?

Get a life!

I agree with Mark-

Get a life, Gerards!

This thread brings out one of the most defining charecteristics of the liberal set. I really don't like to generalize, but I'm gonna to do it anyway. Generally, they have absolutely NO sense of humor. This is why Rush Limbaugh infuriates them so much - he is always poking fun at them. I guess when God has annointed you with such detailed and certain knowledge of what is really best for the human race, a person hates to have anyone from the Great Unwashed giggling at them.
