An Interesting Article Dated Tomorrow, February 14, 2000 and Happy Valentines Day, by the Way!

Good evening all!

My physical well-being is much improved since the last time I posted to this forum, for two distinct reasons:

First off, I feel much better having blown some dirt off my face from my most recent beating at Biffy, thanks to the support many of you have given me through private e-mails, etc. That support certainly helped me defeat the physical virus, or whatever it was, that was plaguing me at the end of last week.

Second, Ive spent the past two days on a weekend "Scout Camping Trip," during which I was in charge of bringing firewood to the camp from my home. I was also placed in charge of building and managing the fire--all the way from first coals-- to making certain no scouts were incinerated like the Marshmallow Man in the original Ghostbusters movie, while they were roasting same. There is not a chance I would have been in a position to do either had it not been for the input of so many of the Veteran Forum Posters at TB2000 over the past year or so, who taught me about firewood and how to build fires safely. To elaborate on point #2, in order to be able to complete some work for one of my clients, I left this trip early. Did that make me happy? Yes!!! Why?

Well, for the purpose of THIS forum: I LIKE having one bathroom for two people. (I will always remember the lady in the Los Angeles area who--Pre-Y2k-- encountered the American Red Cross worker who told her something like, Well, you can follow the American Red Cross Guidelines or not. Its up to you. But do you REALLY WANT to go to a shelter? Personally, had I been privy to that conversation--especially based upon this past weekends experience--my answer, would have been Not a Snowballs Chance in Hades.)

Now, with regard to my other client work, without revealing TOO much detail, one of the many hats I wear includes the phrase "media monitoring."

Accordingly, I am posting a heads up regarding an article that "Veteran Forum Posters at TB2000" may be interested in. If not the entire article, at least the last paragraph.

Many of us followed Ed Yardeni's Y2k predictions over the past year or so. In this particular article, in my humble opinion, Yardeni responds to biting criticism--from one of his industry's most critical publications--with elegance. There may be a lesson here for any of us who--as human beings--may one day discover that despite our best intentions, intelligence levels and attempts at seeking out good advice, we may someday wind up publicly appearing to be flat-out wrong.

It is in that spirit that I post a link to that article (though in some cases, a link TO a link).

Now, will Yardeni be wrong in the long-run? Ah, to answer that question--one might need to have access to some of the articles already slated for publication in March of 2000 and beyond. Ive already seen a few of them, but they are --for the moment-- off the record. :)

For now, isnt it nice that the lights are on? I--for one--am thanking God every day. I am also thanking God that I am lucky enough to live in a home with two bathrooms.

As always, Just Passin it on...

:)
