Why won't my radishes grow?

I am growing them in pots outdoors. Good soil, plenty of room. No radish tubers form. Whats up?

Ronny, What I have found is that some stuff grows, some stuff doesn't. Really. My friend says people have trouble with pot gardening, too.

Ronny:

I don't know where you live. Here we would have frozen radishes. In answer to your question: It could be Y2K or it could be day length.

Best wishes,,,,

Try asking your question HERE. There are lots of gardeners on this board. You are mostly going to get flames for that question on TB2000.

All the available bovine excrement is currently being used by the presidential candidates, hence the poor performance of plants.

Radishes grow best in moist soil. Radishes are harvested as roots, not tubers. Don't allow them to split because this will increase the amount of rot potential due to surrounding bacteria. Keep cool until ready to eat for optimum crispness.

My carrots are growing a little (very little). We ate one of my brocholli tonight. I harvested a few scallions. I wish I had grown them as onions. Life is good.
