Edmonton, Alberta - gas just jumped to 59.9 cents/litre ($2.26/gal) for low-grade (89 octane) gasoline. I heard that the federal government is going to launch an investigation into high gas prices.

Here in Buffalo, NY gas is $1.56 premium up $ .10 from last week. Can't touch regular for under $1.40 gal.

Hampton Roads VA, 2.5% increase this week on the cheapest gasoline.

Cheapest offered by a new station rose from lowest Jan $.99 to now 1.21 (last week was 1.18), other stations in area list cheapest at 1.29 to 1.31 (last week was 1.26).

Diesel is starting to move up fast now in Kenosha Wisconsin. Paid high of $1.49 9/10's but as I was driving through the county, saw as high as $1.56 9/10's. What really amazed me was to see a 10 cent rise, literally overnight, for premium gas to $1.63 9/10's.

Not to get off topic, but with gas prices going through the roof, why is the fed STILL injecting reserves into the system?

$1.39 9/10 here in the midwest(small town Iowa), up from $1.23 9/10 on Dec. 31st.
