Where do you love to get dinner?

I am totally in love with the Outback Steakhouse. They make this ginger ale that totally rocks. Also the steak is good. I'm a little obsessed with this right now because it's almost 7:30 and I haven't eaten since 11 this morning, and as soon as Keith shows up we're going to the Outback.

Anyway, what about you?

On this forum, which I purposefully tried to hurt the owner of, I would like to apologize. I was wrong. Whether my points have any basis in fact or not is irrelevant. I was in the wrong to come here for the sole purpose of stirring up trouble, and I apologize for that. Took me three days to sort through my stuff and write a response to your follow-on posts, but here is the right response. Again sorry.

uhh...oookay...?

i love this little family-owned thai place in town. they make the BEST FUCKING PAD THAI in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE. no, it's that good, really. and they have really yummy super-sweet thai iced tea, too. they were closed for a few weeks around winter break and i practically went into withdrawal.

OK, Outback was just as good as I'd hoped it would be. Ah, prime rib, how do I love thee? Except I ate so much of it that now I feel like I'm going to pass out, so obviously this is not something I want to do every night, or in fact, every month for that matter.

It was really good though.

Eva, I'm right with you on the Thai thing. I'm always hunting down new Thai restaurants to try. I'm more of a curry person than a pad thai person, though. I like the spicy stuff. Also Thai iced tea. Mmm.

Adding to the pleasure of Thai restaurants is the fact that recently I finally learned how to use chopsticks, thanks to my ever-patient sweetie, who was the first person in years of botched attempts who was ever able to successfully show me how it was done.

Now I'm going to go pass out for awhile. You kids be good.

There is this place in St Catharines Ontario, called Joe Feta's Greek Restaurant. I totaly love Greek Food. And this place is great, all done up like a terrace or patio in Greece, the food is great. I love going there. My other favourite place is called "the flying saucer" in Niagara Falls, it's done in all tacky red vinyl and mirrors, neon lighting.. very dirty.. but the food is cool. These are two places I usually visit when people from the net come to see me. I consider them tourist attractions. Oh and japanese food is good.. thai is good. There's a place in Houston called "nit noir" or something like that.. very good. They close at nine, tho. Don't overstay your welcome. But back to greek food. I LOVE GREEK FOOD. I ever buy "joe feta's very own salad dressing" at my grocery store. I'm smitten.

Oh, that Niagara Falls restaurant thing reminds me of one of my OTHER favorite places to eat, which is the restaurant at the top of the Space Needle here in Seattle. It's so cool, because you get a great view of the city, and the restaurant sloooooooowly turns (one full revolution per hour) so you get a panoramic view, as well.

And the food is really good, too.

There's a really good Chinese restaurant here in town, Jade Palace; anyway their Mandarin Chicken is the best I've eaten. That place probably ranks as my current favorite here in town... but out of town about 35 miles is another place called Piney Dell; their food is lavishly priced, but the filet mignon is so tender and juicy. Beats a burger after a long day of skiing. And I'd have to ditto Jan on the Space Needle being a great place to eat, maybe we'll do it again sometime?

Oh, and regarding Thai food... sorry to all the Thai restaurant goers on the forum, but my mom makes the best Thai food there is... and for good reason (she's Thai). =P I've yet to eat at a Thai place that matches up to her cuisine, but maybe I'm a little biased, perhaps (and maybe I just really missed her cooking all those college nights away from home).

Dan and I went to Ruth Chris steakhouse for our Valentine's Day dinner this weekend, and we both ABSOLUTELY LOVED it. It was a bit pricey though, and everything is ala carte, but TOTALLY worth it. It didn't even ruin my diet, so that was bonus points :)

The Outback is OK, but the only non-meat thing on the menu that I like tends to give me a tummyache. :( Oh well.

My favorite lunch place is a little deli about 2 blocks from work; they make amazing sandwiches. MMMmmmm. I'll really miss that place when we move to a new office.

For dinner, there's a great sushi place nearby which is really fun; Peter and I go there a lot. Runners-up include: The Bangkok Garden (thai food), the Olive Garden (yeah, yeah, *I* like it), and La Bamba's Burritos (which, unfortunately, does not exist in California). Mmmmm.

Buffet-style cajun food. There's a place in downtown Philadelphia that I don't remember the name of that had totally kick-ass Cajun food. I used to eat there all the time while I was at school in Philly. There isn't one damned cajun place within 30 miles of here. You could say I'm going through withdrawl. Maybe I should go to New Orleans for my next vacation and laissez les bons temps rouler!
