Do you do anything special to boost your creativity? What do you create?

usually I do something really mindless, like play Hearts or solitaire. these brain-numbing activities often clear my mind of the garbage that collects there from my day-to-day life.

I've also found that magnetic poetry kit to be good for thinking... just sitting back and looking at a bunch of words...

I used to have a book of writing assignments. It would give you a scene or a situation, and your "task" was to write a short story about that scene...

I find that starting and carrying on conversations with people I don't know usually causes something good and creative to occur. Other than that my creativity seems to stimulate itself. Fortunately I can usually grab on and make it work for me!

often just puttering around in my art studio will make me want to do creative things - it's the sight of all the paint, canvas, paper, and brushes, just waiting to be put together. i also write three pages of ramblings in a notebook each morning (except the mornings when i don't). that clears a lot of nonsense out of my head and gives me a chance to figure out what i want to do that day.

read alot of books by experts in many different fields and interconnecting patterns seem to appear. "Data overload equals pattern recognition"....."if you know one thing well you know all things well".......

I find that having a conversation with someone is always a boost to my creativity, especially if I'm writing. If I'm painting or drawing I've found that looking at others pictures helps.
