canopus raptor or pinnacle dv300?

I'm looking into getting a firewire capture card and building a pc system around it. I'm stuck between the Canopus Raptor and the Pinnacle dv 300. They're both in my price range. I have a sony trv 900. And I'm intending to edit in premiere 5.1. Any suggestions? Has anyone had any problems with either of these cards...or any rave reviews of either?

Since 6 month i am editing with canopus raptor and i am very satisfied with speed, system stability and quite a range of provided tools. I was told, Canopus is closer to real time editing than pinnacle.

I HAVE A RAPTOR I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAS ONE WHO SAYS IT IS GREAT THE PROBLEM I HAVE WITH IT IS IT WON'T WORK WITH AMD PRODUCTS DO NOT BUY THIS THING UNLESS YOU HAVE A PENTIUM GO TO CANOPUSCORP.COM FOR COMPATABILITY IT TELLS YOU WHAT MOTHERBOARDS WORK, ETC... I DON'T KNOW IF PINNACLE WORKS WITH AMD OR NOT DONT LET THIS TURN YOU OFF TO THE CARD FROM WHAT I HEAR, WHEN IT WORKS, IT BURNS

Over the past eighteen months I have used two Pinnacle products, the last being DV300. I have spent hours trying to get it working reliably. I have used it for about twenty weddings, BUT somedays it would others it would not. Last week I gave up with Pinnacle support, sold my Pinnacle junk on the bay and purchased Raptor with bay and Premiere 5.0. Works great, books great, price great. No need to say anymore. I have a Dell pc, canon XL1 and no problems whatsoever.
