Lucie & Carter

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I cannot believe what ahppened on last nights show! Everytime I start to like a character they kill them off the show. Lucie helps make the show as well as Carter. Obviously the creators of ER don't know or don't care what the audience wants. They could kill off Dr. Benton before they kill off Lucie! The show was very intense last night, maybe they should think twice before they let Lucie go. Hopefully the cast of ER will make her feel more welcomed and the creators will give her a bigger and better part! WAKE UP !!!!!

Actually it has been reported that Kellie Martin asked to leave the show for personal reasons. While I'm sorry to see her leave I thought the way they did it was excellent. The episode, while very depressing on the whole, left me with sweaty palms and my heart beating out of my chest I loved it!

I thought last night's episode was the best in a long time. I agree there are too many characters and the plots are often lame. I was on the edge of my seat the entire night. The ending was awesome! I never guessed that was coming! Kudos to ER - they finally got one right!

Wow ... never have I been SO moved after an episode of ER. Having those little kids loose both parents was gut-wrenching enough. But, having Carter look over at Lucy, with that dance music blaring and her eyes wild ... That image is going to stay with me for a long, long time. I just sat stunned in front of the TV after that. ER has never been so powerfully sad, frantic and scary at the same time.

According to the Yahoo! articles I read, Kellie left the show *because* she wasn't getting enough screen time. That, and I seem to remember that she recently married and he lives or is moving to the east coast.

Kellie Martin wanted to return to Yale to finish her undergraduate career before she got older and did not want to do it. That is why she asked to leave. that er last night was like the er of the old days. absolutely incredible..i was left too with that image of Lucy dying while the loud music was blaring!

My husband happened to come home from work just as Carter fell to the floor and he saw me staring wide eyed with a hand over my mouth saying oh my God over and over as well as I can't believe this and rushed over to see what was wrong with me! Talk about involved on the edge of your seat viewing!!!!! WOW!

I, too, was floored (no pun intended) by last night's episode. Way to go ER!

I absolutely was totally stunned last night. My mouth was dropped open from the time Dr. Carter walked through those doors. I just knew something terrible was going to happen but I never dreamed they would both get stabbed. I thought he'd go in and find her dead. What a total shock. I almost threw up-it was too realistic. I knew she was leaving but I didn't she was gonna leave like that. OOoooohh.YUCK.Poor Lucie laying there bleeding to death. I hate to see her go-Earlier they had had such chemistry. I had hoped they would make a relationship put of it.Oh well. What a freakin' psycho!!!!

I just read in an article that Kellie Martin recently lost a loved one (a sister I think). Maybe she is looking for more family time. Who knows? I certainly haven't had the chance to ask her...I thought last night was her best episode yet. anyone agree? sarah

I agree with you about kellie

Yes, Kellie Martin's younger sister (drawing a blank on her name, sorry), recently died of lupus. (I know because I have lupus, too, and Kellie Martin has been an excellent spokesperson for our cause!) I think she is really a great actress, and I hope she will come back to acting when she is done at Yale or Harvard or wherever she is going back to school! WOW what an episode!!!!!

Last night's epidsode really floored me! It was wonderful, but I didn't know Kellie Martin was leaving the show until today. I was sooo upset when I found out. She's such a wonderful actress, and I hope she will be happy with wherever her decision takes her.

Just think. Those two looks were acted to a camera with many people in the room (cameramen, directors, technicians.) That in itself makes the realism much more incredible.

I think last night's show was incredible! I was on the edge of my seat with my hands covering my mouth several times. In terms of intensity, it reminded me of the episode a few years ago called "Love's Labor Lost" about the pregnant woman Greene tried to save in the ER. It was just so creepy, and yet so real at the same time.
