Minox 35PL

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Minox Photography : One Thread

I've found a used Minox 35PL I am interested in buying. I know that it is program mode only and I don't mind that. But, are there any problems I should be aware of?

Does it have the same shutter problems as the early 35MLs?

Can I get batteries for it in the UK (it takes a PX27) or an uptodate equivalent?

I gather there isn't a hot shoe but it would need a special flash - what models would fit and would there be a problem in getting one (or would it be vastly expensive)?

Thanks, Bill

Bill, I think you mixed up. Minox PE is the one without flash hot shoe, and a special matching flash is attached to the side ( like Olympus XA style ).

Minox 35 PL was made in 1982, it has a hot shoe like GT, so you don't need the side mount PE flash.

PX27 5.6v battery is still available on eBay, search for "Minox" and you may find it.
