NERO?

For NERO 4083 users.

I'm using Nero to burn my VCD's. It doesn't matter wether I put a ten minute or a fifty minute clip in to be burned or choose 1X or 8X speed. The time to produce the disk always takes 40 minutes. Also in Nero the log window states the percentage of mpegs that has been burned but on the bottom toolbar on the desktop the percentage passes 100% and continues till 1000% which is the 40 minute point.]

I'm guessing the way it's suppose to work is if you have a lengthy mpeg it's going to take longer to burn than a shorter one.

I recently had problems with 4075. I just updated to 4083 and that helped me produce a working/readable VCD even though I still get a burn failed message.

Is anybody having a similiar experience?

I have been using the update but have not had any problems yet in fact I now get stereo sound from a Panasonic encoded where I did not with 4.0.7.5

Does the blue line at the bottom indicate the correct length?

Have a look in Nero for the size of the data file your attempting to burn and compare it with explorer properties size. I once had a similar problem where the file size was listed in Nero as larger that it actually was. That turned out to be a encode problem when I was using LSX 2.51
