GROZNY, February 10 (Itar-Tass) - Russian interior bodies have destroyed 492 small underground oil refineries in Chechnya over the past three months.

According to Russian Deputy Interior Minister Ivan Golubev, more than 220,000 litres of fuel and lubricants have been seized from criminal gangs, which spent the illegal trade revenues to finance the rebel formations and also to personally enrich their ringleaders.

Detectives at the temporary interior department in the Grozny rural district are investigating a case of stealing 150 thousand roubles worth of petroleum products.

220,000 litres... about 35,000 gallons. My corner gas station has a lot more.

150,000 rubles... about $100. That won't buy a decent dinner for two.

Not to worry. As i said in a thread a couple weeks ago, this was/is about `oil`! Now the Russians have control of Chechnya oil, they will be looking to Georgia or one of the other oil rich countries in the area to HELP rid them of the bad guys for them. They have already gone on record as saying how bad the situation is for many of the Caucasus region. [their brothers` right] Keep watching, they aren`t done yet!

The advantage of a long life and longer memory.

This is the same trail the bolshi's walked 1917 through 1929. South to the oil. Then east 'til you run into China. Then north and east again to the sea.

Of course, a lot (150 million central asian) of Isalmic peoples will slow them down this time.
