Text of report by Ukrainian news agency UNIAN on 9th February

Kiev, 9th February: Upon completion of unscheduled repairs, theNo 3 generating set of the Rivne nuclear power station wasreconnected to the country's power grid at 1542 [1342 gmt] on Wednesday [9th February], the State Nuclear ControlAdministration of Ukraine told UNIAN.

The emergency stoppage of the set on the night of 8th February was caused by hydrogen leaking from the refrigerating system ofits electric generator, which posed a threat of fire or anexplosion. The generating set was restarted nearly 36 hours earlier than planned. Operations are under way to step up its output.

As of today, repairs are being done to generating set No 1 of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power station and No 2 at the South-Ukrainian nuclear station. The latter is nearly two months behind its operation schedule due to nuclear fuel supply delays. Publication date: Feb 09, 2000 ) 2000, NewsReal, Inc.

Refrigerating system?

Me thinks they have a minor translation error between a hydrogen leak in the generator cooling system and the generator "refrigeration" system.....unless the UK's have invented a cryogenic liquid hydrogen-cooled superconducting generator....
