Boy, he had me in tears(literally, until I realized who was doing it and why) talking about his POW years on MSNBC. What an orchestration. Don't forget they hedge their bets. They are all Insiders. They don't get this far without MONEY!!! Did the money come from you?

In an appearance on MSNBCs Hardball with Chris Matthews on Wednesday, Arizona Sen. John McCain defended a Washington fund-raiser his presidential campaign will hold Thursday night that Capitol Hill lobbyists will attend. If they want to give me money, thats fine, but that doesnt mean that Im doing anything for them, McCain said.

IN HIS INTERVIEW with Matthews in front of an audience at Clemson University in South Carolina, McCain contended that Washington lobbyists are sick and tired of the system of political fund-raising, just as other Americans are. McCain has called for a ban on soft money, the unlimited contributions that labor unions, corporations, and wealthy individuals give to the two major political parties. LOBBYISTS ON MARS? As for the lobbyists who are contributing money to his presidential bid , McCain said, My message is clear. If they dont get it, theyve been on Mars. McCain described himself as a proud Republican conservative but I also want to restore what Ronald Reagan was able to achieve in America, what we call the Reagan Democrats, and reach across party lines and build a coalition so we can build a better America.

McCain called the Supreme Courts 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide a flawed decision which, he said, should be overturned. If the regulation of abortion were to revert to the states, as was the case prior to Roe v. Wade,

McCain: liberal or conservative?

McCain said, obviously I dont think abortion should be legal and he would like to see states ban it. He said he had a moral belief that life begins at conception. He said both supporters and opponents of abortion rights needed to work together to make adoption easier, to improve foster care in America and reach the goal that almost all of us seek, and that is, to reduce and over time eliminate abortion in America. DISAPPROVES OF GAY LIFESTYLE On the issue of homosexuals serving in the military, McCain voiced support for the current dont ask, dont tell policy, which he said was successful. I dont approve of the lifestyle, but I dont believe in discrimination, he said.

McCain denounced as crazy a recent Vermont Supreme Court decision that gave domestic partnerships between homosexuals a status equivalent to marriages between men and woman. The Arizona senator assailed Supreme Court decisions that banned organized prayers in public schools. We start Congress every day with a prayer. Why in the world would the Supreme Court of the United States say that these young people cant start their day with a voluntary silent prayer if they want to? FLAG BURNING He also criticized the Supreme Court for ruling unconstitutional laws that punish the burning or desecration of the American flag, which he called a symbol of the sacrifice of thousands of young Americans, particularly South Carolinians. As for the Confederate battle flag flying over the South Carolina state Capitol building, McCain said only that I want them to make a decision as soon as possible. McCain spent the day campaigning in South Carolina, which holds its GOP presidential primary on Feb. 19. Earlier, while campaigning in Columbia, McCain called his rival George W. Bush an unwitting pawn of special interests, even as Bush questioned McCains use of political action committee donations. McCain urged Bush to denounce efforts by Republican leaders and his own fund-raisers to organize soft money drives in preparation for the general election. I see him as an unwitting pawn, McCain told reporters. If he wont support reform of the system then he becomes part of the problem. Later, McCain tried to back off the remark, saying he hopes Bush realizes that the system being set up is a very bad thing. If you get too much money into any campaign it will cause scandal. I dont want to say Governor Bush is quote an unwitting pawn. All I want to say is I really wish Governor Bush would realize this is a bad situation for America and say he would stop it, With Steve Forbes pulling out of the Republican campaign, McCain and Bush settled into a two-man race that will be shaped by the South Carolina primary. We can easily lose this race, but all I can tell is were getting enthusiastic rallies that are beginning to remind me of New Hampshire, said McCain, who won last weeks primary by 19 percentage points over Bush. DAMATO SEES PRAIRIE FIRE Former New York Sen. Alfonse DAmato said Wednesday that McCain is gaining momentum that could topple Bush, whom DAmato has endorsed. Its like a prairie fire, and it could just blow right over his firewall, DAmato said, referring to the states where Bush hopes to stop McCains surge. I think hes going to win South Carolina and hes going to carry Michigan, DAmato said of McCain. And then when it gets to Super Tuesday, Katie bar the door. DAmato endorsed Bush nearly a year ago because he looked to be a formidable candidate. ELDER BUSH IN MICHIGAN Meanwhile in Michigan, which holds its primary on Feb. 22, former President George Bush, father of the Texas governor, accepted endorsements on his sons behalf from law enforcement groups on Wednesday. This is a powerful endorsement, he said at Livonia City Hall, where he accepted for his son the backing of the Police Officers Association of Michigan, the states Deputy Sheriffs Association and the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police. I hope it rings out through this state. I hope the folks in South Carolina hear it; as you know, were engaged in hand-to-hand combat down there, the elder Bush said. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

McCain is a joke! He is the biggest soft money raising candidate on the republican side. Do some research.

-- Just Curious (jnmpow@flash.net), February 10, 2000.

Vern, you have to be the most outspoken political activist mouthpiece I have ever seen in a newsgroup.

McCain is a dangerous man. If his campaign doesn't end with the Michigan and South Carolina primaries, and he goes on to be the Repubublican nominee, the nation is guaranteed 8 years of Al Bore. Which, I might add, the nation will not survive.

-- Irving (irvingf@myremarq.com), February 10, 2000.

YOU may not survive, but the homeless, the governement "workers", & the very wealthy will do fine. The middle class will see taxes go up, thru the ROOF! And the barely hanging on working class will just have to double up and triple up. No one said it would be easy.

How about a $2 or $3 surcharge on gasoline, a UN global warming tax, and a new agency to enforce it's collection, like the UN-IRS?

Gore is OLD money. OLD boy-network. OLD-fashioned One-World mind control...

It is so refreshing to find well informed intelligent people in the world... only on the forums like this though. I contributed the following link to another site earlier, I thought you might what to check it out also... McCain is bad news... we don't need to be forced into choosing the lesser evil of the two... I believe it is our responsibility to vote for what is the best we can do... and if that mean not voting for a candidate that will win...so-beit ... just because someone looks like he could win is no reason to compromise our children's future will toxic dumping! If you are thinking about McCain as anything other than a fraud and traitor, you need to check out the truth and then search your heart for the right thing to do. It really is good to find people that care!

"If they want to give me money, that's fine, but that doesn't mean I'm doing anything for them," McCain said.

I wonder if that's what Klintoon said about the Chinese contributions?

McCain is as RED as they come. Apparently he was recruited as a POW. Some 'hero' he is. I read the story in the Spotlight newsweekly. I don't know if they still have that story up, but their website is http://www.spotlight.org -- for some of the far-out stuff they print, they have a pretty good record of getting at the truth.

I don't trust any politician, any more. They waste too much of my money on wars and other things that the average taxpayer would not approve of--if they knew where their money was being spent. Then these sanctimonious jerks tell us it's all for our own good. What a crock!

If u wanna know 'what's happening' in politics these days:

1) Senator John DeCamps' "The Franklin CoverUp"

"When federal agencies shut down the Franklin Community Federal Credit Union in Omaha Nebraska, they sent shock waves all the way to Washington, D.C. What looked like a financial swindle soon exploded into a hideous tale of drugs, Iran-contra money-laundering, a child abuse ring, and ritual murder. An utterly convincing, extremely well- documented investigation-if you don't believe such things are really going on, this book will change your mind." (available at Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble, or try Prevailing Winds)

2) "Trance Formation of America" Mark Phillips & Cathy O'Brien

"search" the above on the internet and get the facts. Very serious business. If this is happening in our government - and it is - and no one can get hold of the situation to get us back on course; if Bush, Jr. is installed into office...then we ALL are in DEEP Guano.

Look who's named in the books - and look who's coming-up for election.

(real cute....huh?) "Be sure to go out and vote"

-- steve (WhoCares@nymore.Right?com), February 11, 2000.

Steve-I knew you were a good guy! I have heard about the book, Trance Formation of America on the Newswatch Magazine web site. She talks about Klinton and the rolled up fifty dollar bills and cocaine. I almost had hope in Republicans until I read some of Cathy O'Brien's testimony. Now I don't think you can trust any of them. TPTB already know who our next president will be and I really don't think our vote matters. Just MHO of course.

Futility! Patriotism! We Buy the Lie!

This country was founded on a monstrous Godless lie, as all human governments are: We will change the world for the better. Forget what God said. We can do Him one better.

If you patriots and preachers finally find him and vote him in I am sure he will make you VERY happy! He will bring peace on earth for you and your loved ones. He will restore America's rightful place on earth. Right? Atlast, we will finally be able to kill Indians and Niggers without a guilty conscience. And, after all Hitler wasn't such a bad guy after all, really. And those Jews, to Hell with them. They were only God's original chosen people, but not now. We(mongrel) Americans are now the chosen race.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
