Not a new glitch, but new to megreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
I got my letter from Citibank today(letter dated Feb. 3, 2000-good old snail mail), informing me my account had been charged more than once for the same purchase. They caught and fixed it. Their words:"The problem, which arose in transactions occurring after January 1, has been traced to a software system used by a small(emphasis mine) number of retailers and merchants globally.
Have the credit card companies pretty got these glitches solved now? Or are they continuing?

'pretty much got'....apparently glitches are contagious.

kyle,i think that it would pretty much depend on whether said merchants have upgraded their ICVerify software. only CyberCash knows for sure, and they don't have much to say.
