O.T. The Criteria for what goes "Poof"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

A two or three nights ago, I initalized a post about me being suddenenly made aware of a situation. Maybe my post seemed too inflammatory. Well! the knowledge Woke me up! Two separate posts were "poof". Now I have seen others ask why, when they also were reporting what they knew/heard/experienced. As one human, to another please advise me of the guidelines on this forum. I thought it was open Global.

Mr human Kind, go write to the forum moderators. The link is at the bottom of the page, although I find it hard to believe you are not aware of it. However I will give you the benefit of the doubt, that you were ignorant of that accessibility. You do realize that the bible says ( as well as common courtesy), when you have a problem with somebody, go to that person first in private, and if you can't resolve it , only then is it appropriate to involve others (such as this forum.) They are very nice and will write back; it might take a few days but I have done it and they are most helpful.

Matthew, Sure! you just had to call yourself the scripture of Matthew, my favorite. I didn't have a squabble with anyone (there was no debate). It had to do with a German Air Base now located in New Mexico. Watch how fast this disappears. Heaven's Speed and Awareness. The name of the base is New Mexico Holloman Air Fore Base. Do your homework.

No big deal about the German Air Force base. They have changed the name, it's not Holloman now, but I forgot the new German name. They had two aircraft collide out there and the press was not allowed to investigate or photograph. Bubba said that the U.S. government also could not investigate, as it was German sovereign territory.

I don't know who's joking here, but for the sake of clairty, I'll inform you that Holloman Air Force Base, located on the western edge of Alamagordo, New Mexico (Alamagordo meaning "Big Cottonwood tree;" Cottonwood trees line a park in the center of town BTW), is an American Air Force base. Several years ago, it was decided that German military members would be brought in for training purposes. The terrain is perfect for desert training. And, there is a lot of that in the area. Holloman is one of two locations in the US that houses the stealth bomber, which you can see flying in the vicinity from time to time.

Now, the real stuff occurs at White Sands Missile Range, which is an army base-- sixty miles wide and a hundred miles long, running paralel to I 25. Holloman borders its eastern edge. Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas, borders its southern edge. WSMR considers itself to be the birth place of the space program, in that the first American rockets were tested there. Also, within its parameters is the Trinity Site.

SOmeone might need to refine this but my recollection is that George is correct but leaves out the following. Because of a stupid little clause in their constitution, the German AF drivers can ONLY train FROM SOVREIGN GERMAN TERRITORY. This is one of those stupid little technicalities that some guy named Marshal INSISTED on in the late 1940's.

So, in order to keep to the leter of their constitution (the germans are a bit more anal about these things) there needed to be a bit of Sovreign Germany in the area we wanted to help them train in, and so we created a bit of Germany out there somewhere west of the Mississippi for them to take off from and land in. (Sorry about the detail challengedness, but I AM from the East and anything west of the Mississippi might as well be in another galaxy as far as I can tell.)
