B&W photolab with a septic system

I'm looking to buy a home with a private septic system, not a city sewer hookup. Has anyone had any problems with the chemicals causing problems with their septic?

I used a lab and septic system for several years back in the '80s and had no problems with it. I'm sure black and white won't be a problem, but if you use Cibachrome for color prints from slides be sure to use that dilution stuff.

Kodak's website has info on publications covering this and the last issue of Photo Techniques has some information on this as well.

I've been using a septic system with my darkroom for 16 years, with no problems whatever. There is an excellent article on this in the latest issue of Photo Techniques.

I've had no problems with my system. You know if you don't want it to run thru your pipes you can put a bucket under there and haul it off ever now and then like them people do when they change the oil in their cars.
