Some info on relay champs terrain.

Here is some info on the relay terrain. It is from the course vetter (JJ). Peggy got ahold of this bit of info and forwarded it to me.

Well, from the field where the Relay changeover will be happening, there's a clear view of the Wachusett ski area, just a few miles to the south. I guess the relay terrain is something like Wachusett, but with less climb. The Troll Cup map, across the railroad tracks, is quite different, though. Something like Townsend, perhaps, but with no laurel, and about the most intricate contours I've seen anywhere (not counting sand dunes). It's one of the nicest areas I know of. I've spent less time on the relay side recently, but Jeff Saeger is doing some of the fieldwork, and he's very psyched about the area.

I don't know exactly what is going on, but since the Mook injury our odds in Vegas of winning the relays has gone up considerably. Luckily, just like the airfares, I placed my bets early. I hope this will not effect my status for the U.S. Orienteering Hall of Fame.

Well, if J-J were a horse this would be like hearing it straight from the horse's mouth, or at least sort of.

Check out a live parking lot cam at the Wachusett Mountain ski area.

WOW! A picture of a lot full of cars! Neato! Will we have to run through them? Micro-route choice!!
