Name:Great Lakes Information Network. URL: http://www.great-lakes.net/. By Great Lakes Information Network. rating

Review: The website that focused on the Great Lakes was filled with valuable information. The most usage this about the site were the clear topics to choose from which included: economy, ecosystem, education, environment, water levels, tourism, weather, and climate. The array of topics is very useful in finding information quickly and easily. As the site went into more detail it got a litlle boring and old. So they shouldn't have so much infomation on one site it makes this confusing for users. Other then that I was pleased with the website and would return to it for more information at a further date.

Review: I found this site to cantain important and interesting information about the Great Lakes. The site was fun to look at, and it contained various links to other information that you would want to know about the Great Lakes. There was a question and answwer section that you could click on. This proved to be very helpful in answering any questions that a person may have. It also told about the state that the Great Lakes are in right now, and it told success stories of those who were contributing to the health of the Great Lakes. I think this would be a good site for anyone who wnated to learn more about the Great Lakes in general.

MY REVIEW SUMMARY OF THIS SITE Out of all the sites I visited on the Great Lakes, I think this one was the best. It gave general facts about the basin area, current issues and even had many other links to other info on the Great Lakes. The title of the site I visited was The Department of Environmental Conservation. It's at http//www.dec.state.ny.us. The agency is the DEC. I think that this is a very good site because it gives the rules and regulations about what can be done and can't be done in the waters of New York State. Along with this they also have other things on their webpage including environmental protection, outdoors and natural resources, and education and information. I give the site 4 stars

This site is backed by the Great Lakes Commission. This was the best place online I found to get Great Lakes information. It was full of links to other places to get information from them too. This site told about almost all the different categories we had to look for. It told about the ecosystems of the Great Lakes and education programs that were going on to make people aware of the problems. It also gave up to date information about the lakes like, the water levels, weather, and climate. It told about how the two goverments were working together to clean up the lakes. Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum www.shipwreckmuseum.org/index.html no apparent author Gaslight Media 4 stars, This is a very educational site! It has very good graphics that are very eye catching and gain your attention and interest as well. It talks about things other than factual information on lake physiology. More things like how lake Superior is the most dangerous of the great lakes and about the ships it has sunk. It gives you access to press releases, policies and shipwreck stories too. This site makes me want to take a field trip to this museum and see all I can of the history of the great lakes. Michigan Land Use Institute: Great Lakes Bulletin http://www.mlui.org/html/publications.html Webmaster: Keith Schneider (e-mail: keith@mlui.org) An organization out of Michigan published this site regarding the Great Lakes Region. This quarterly publication is printed in order to inform those who live in the Michigan area to become more involved with the decision regarding it. It includes some recent acts passed and current events that have gone on in the area. This site is not very useful for our Great Lakes class due to its concentration on the Michigan area. However, I will rate it * and a ^ because it is somewhat useful in looking for information regarding Lake Michigan only.

It works to inform the public of what the current state of the great lakes are, and the sucess that has taken place. I also like focus on the beauty and value of the lakes. Our Great Lakes/Great Lakes Beyond 2000 http://www.cciw.ca/glimr/glrenewal Webmaster: Scott Monds (e-mail: Scott.Monds@ec.gc.ca) Summary: This site is an excellent source for general Great Lakes information. On it, you can find many articles and info on the work that is going to be done in the region for the next few years. These issues are of particular importance, I think, to keep in mind, as we discuss the environmental issues of the Great Lakes. As you can see from this site, there is much that is being planned in the region to prevent such environmental issues from continuing or reoccurring. This site provides ways in which you can get involved too! Definitely worth a visit! I rate this site ****! Check it out!
