London's Millennium Dome fails to draw visitors

It is supposed to be the centrepiece of Britain's Year 2,000 celebrations: a $2.5 billion showcase that in the words of the organisers "embraces the optimism of Britain as we enter the new millenium". But it seems the so-called "Millenium Dome" at Greenwich hasn't managed to capture the imagination of the British public. Figures released last week show that in the month since "The Dome" opened its doors, only 364,000 people have visited. That's 3 per cent of the 12 million visitors The Dome needs this year in order to break even.
