selenium toning and fixer

I'm sure this question has been addressed before, but I can not find where. When selenium toning prints, do you use a fixer with or without hardeners?

you shouldn't use hardener in your paper fixer at all, unless you're using a paint-on emulsion such as liquid light, which really needs to be hardened after use, or doing a type of toning, like thiocarbamide, which softens the emulsion. otherwise, you're just wasting time, as a hardened print is more difficult to tone and retouch.

you should, of course, use hardener on film.
