Konica UC Designation

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Konica 35mm SLRs : One Thread

As best I recall, the "UC" designation was applied by Konica to only four lenses:

- the UC28mm/1.8 - the UC80-200/4.0 zoom - the UC45-100 zoom - the UC400/5.6

Konica identified the "UC" as a triple threat designation to describe these lenses as ultra compact, ultra close focusing, and ultra coated

Hi Fred,

There were five UC lenses. The 15mm f/2.8 fisheye also has the UC designation.

The 80-200mm f/4 two-touch zoom also had the UC designation as well as the 300mm f/6.3.

UC Designation

Although the Hexanon 300mm f/6.3 was a compact lens for a 300mm, it did not have the UC designation. What made that lens special, and expensive, was the flourite glass used in its construction.
