2 more cats

greenspun.com : LUSENET : People Photography : One Thread

I'm about to add 2 more categories, "Candids" and "Photojournalism". Anything else I've missed (within reason...)?

Uh...do I dare suggest "self-portraits?"

Shawn...I think you've created what a whole bunch of people had hoped photo.net would be. You'll be up to the wee hours moderating this site, since I think it's gunna be very popular!

Yeah. Self-portraits is a good idea, but I think it could be covered under on of the (probably already too many) "Portrait" cats.

It may not seem like it, what with I think 48-50 categories already, but I don't want to create what looks like a table of contents or an appendix to the Bible (whatever one/s you read...) or annotations to Ulysses...

No more felines, please. There are already too many.

And if (g*d forbid...) it does get really popular, I'll try to enlist a couple of people in different time zones to help with moderation. I'm not a control freak, and I've already accomplished what I set out to do for the most part, so extra hands doesn't bother me at all, especially if it means a couple hours more sleep for me...

Shawn,

Thanks for the site.

One thing I like about Philip's site that I don't see here is the

>>Notify Me Of New Responses.<<

Any chance this will be added?

Wedding photography forum?

Shawn,

Any interest in a wedding photography forum? That's something I'd like to see added to the forum list.

Thanks for the People Photography Forum - I'll be visiting it often.

Jim

Jim, There are a number of categories for wedding photography here a PPF, but if you think I've missed something fundemental, lemme know.

A wedding forum might be a good idea. It's very specific, and would probably lead to very focused people asking and answering questions. It might also get stale rather quickly, because you're only dealing with one area of expertise. I dunno.

As Steven Myers asked, I will too:

Any chance "Notify Me Of New Responses" will be added?

This site is going to one of my favourites:-)

Any chance "Notify Me Of New Responses" will be added?

I think that is one of the options for expanded sites only. But it may happen eventually if I an figure out a way to entice Phil. G. (hey, I'm an optimist...).

The other option until then is to add an alert on the main page. Unfortunately, this means you will get every message posted to PPF.
