I am almost free now!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I tried to go off coffee this year, unsuccesfully. I am almost free from TB2000, however. I am down to checking one thread out of every 40. The lights are on, my garden is growing, and gas has only risen five cents since before Christmas (in my area). It looks like it is over, folks, and I have almost kicked the habit of lurking here on TB2000. One of these days I'll just take a walk and never come back! hehehe. I'll miss many of you deeply. !Ciao!

You'll probably just start using another name like most of the others who supposedly "left the forum for good." You'd be better off quitting coffee.

Jose --

Jose!

By my records, you already left ... at least once! You are not here, remember? ;^)

Speaking of attendance records, mine indicate that John Krempasky was going to post an ULTIMATE DOOMER's mea culpa if there were any more than 9 nujke shtudowns in the month of january -- and we had something like 14. Still waiting for his new manifesto; or even better, a thoughtful analyssi on events so far.

Don't quit coffee or the board, yet. Wait until spring.

Squirrel Hunter,

Were those nuke shutdowns supposed to be the ones shut down due to Y2K or did that include the normal shutdowns that occur anyway for sceduled maintenance and refulling?

JoseMiami, why leave? This is actually a pretty good place to kill some time, and sometimes get into good debates.

-- Bemused (and_amazed@you.people), February 05, 2000.

What? And go back to network news only? Unimaginable!

-- (formerly@nowhere.zzz), February 05, 2000.

I don't stay here, but, I have found this the best site to find news and the latest happenings and other. Just don't do it all the time.

-- ET (bneville@zebra.net), February 05, 2000.

I thought of quitting coffee once, then gave up vegetarianism. Its too early to say "its over". INFOMAGIC said "Y2K is the trigger and the economy is the target, stupid". the bullet hasn't left the gun yet.

Your little part of florida may be comfortable right now. Look at the rest of the country and the world. They're calling it "force majuere", that should be a clue.

Ok, ok, ok..you all convinced me. I'll stick around. After all, as Mr. Squirrel hunter says, I have left before, and here I am again. And as bemused says, this is good place to find news that is not reported any where else. oops! sorry, it was ET that said that.

-- JoseMiami (caris@prodigy.net), February 05, 2000.

Jose, you're so easy. Me too.

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), February 05, 2000.

John, How do you know/see we are in Florida? Cherri, I had one last nerve, and your audacity, without humalitity, just drove me to vexation. Think you solved the whole picture, kit and kootable. Being an enlisted, how much could you know, about life and humamity? Yet, you, and all your self induced pomp, still keep typing that you solved a problem, even put your pix out, maybe you should join all the supposedly Religious Evangelist. It ain't over, till it is over, Pilgrim.

Yes, I am easy. And this forum IS addicting. The part that I have to agree with is the availibility of news items that will never be reported on major news networks. I honestly had not thought about that, but I ruined forever for national TV channels news, as well as USA today and the Miami Herald.

Hey, Turkey point shut down the other day (one of the two reactors) and I found out about it on this forum. I can almost SEE Turkey Point from my house!! The Miami Herald said NOTHING about it! Neighter did the local TV stations. I guess I better stick around in case Cuba attacks Miami with nuclear missles or something -- I would find out about faster in here than on our local news. Thanks for the slap guys, I need that.

Hey Control freeks: I think John was talking to me. My name is kind of a give away that I live in South Florida, besides, John and I have corresponded before, right John? He is a nice guy. I don't know anything about Cherri, except that she is picking on Carl a few threads up.

Actually, I don't see any posting by Cherri on this thread. Are you all right Freeks? Did you fall into the wrong thread? I would get that last nerve taken care of if I were you.

oops! my bad...there she is giving Squirrel hunter a hard time. Oh well..
