This is from OPIS...is there a map of terminals?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I receive anywhere from 3 to 5 of these reports per day. I would like to know the geographical location of the terminals that are discussed. Does anyone know of a map showing the national distribution of terminals and/or pipelines by NAME? Thanks Taz

2000-02-04 15:41:11 EST ***WILLIAMS PROPANE SUPPLY PROBLEMS PRESSURING OTHER MARKETS The propane supply problems and subsequent allocation imposed by Williams on its MAPCO Pipeline customers earlier this week has caused a ripple effect throughout the Midwest, sources said. Outages are now cropping up at terminals along the Kaneb and Kinder Morgan pipelines as suppliers scramble to replace volumes. To recap earlier OPIS reports: MAPCO Williams announced on February 1 that it would imposed an allocation. The allocation went into effect at 7 am Thursday morning, February 3. Prior the allocation, Williams shut down all terminals (except Hobbs) from midnight, Wednesday, February 2 through 6:59 a.m. Thursday, February 3. Williams told suppliers via letter it was having "meter rate issues and possible brine problems," and that flow rates would be reduced on "all shipments out of Conway." Williams public relations officials told OPIS that the allocations are expected to continue at least through Monday. Initially, the allocations were as steep as 55%, but a new set of allocations has just been announced for the weekend, and most shippers will get a 25-30% boost in their allocations to 85% of their typical volumes, said Williams. The allocation is based on historical figures. Williams declined to comment on whether or not shipments of propane south to Belvieu are continuing. "Due to the sensitivity in markets over pricing we prefer not to say where shippers are sending their bbls," said the PR official. Meanwhile, the spread between spot propane at Conway and Mont Belvieu is now running at 20cts gal as of midday today. A spread wide enough to support shipping bbls south out of Conway has persisted for several months, according to OPIS spot data. Here's an update on outages at other locations: Along the Kaneb, the Geneva terminal is set to run out of propane today and will not see supply back in until Sunday. The Wolsey terminal is also expected to run out today and will not have re-supply until the middle of next week. Along the Kinder Morgan, Lemont and Morris will not see re-supply available until Monday morning. Iowa City is out until midnight, Des Moines and Clear Lake are operating with rate reductions, and Tampico is expected to run out later today with re-supply expected to be available sometime Sunday afternoon, sources said. I found an annual report page at WilliamEnergy that contains the following quote:

Williams Pipe Line's 9,200-mile system provides petroleum products transportation, distribution and storage services throughout the Midwest. The company also offers truck-loading terminal technology software and design internationally. Williams Energy Ventures' financial results are included within this segment.

The states through which the pipeline runs appears, from the small map on the website, to be: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

Some of the terminals listed are Iowa City, Clear Lake, and Des Moines (Iowa)

Thanks for the links. I did not find what I was looking for but did find the research librarian and sent off a request. There was a map on the net a couple of years ago that showed all the pipelines in the lower 48. Ithought it was on TB2000 but maybe not. I can't find it. Taz
