To sysops: Question about confirmation window

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Is there any chance somebody could put a link to the main message board on the confirmation window (after posting a reply)? I think that would be slicker than backing up three windows, or trying to figure out which "go" (in Netscape) selection to use.

Answers

Paul,

Philip Greenspun, a professor at MIT, has structured the forum software. It's his creation. We can suggest it, and that's about it.

Thanks.

Paul,

In Netscape, if you click and hold the back button, you will see a listing of several of your past windows. Then all you have to do is go the one you want and click, thereby skipping the other windows in between.

FWIW

I think it's kind of interesting how many different email addresses are in the column of those who are sent a copy of each and every posting made on this board.

Now, I could understand those who made the original post to want all replies sent to him or her, but who are all these folks?

Could all these people be folks with e-mail access but not web access? Also, which country is .bo at the end of the address?

So strange.

formerly,

Anyone can "subscribe" to the forum, by going to the "add alert" link at the bottom of the "top level" page. Once you do this, you will receive a copy of EVERY post made here. <:)=

PS - This could be handy for someone with limited "on-line" time. There are options like daily or weekly on that page, so one could "dial in" once a day, download everything in one shot, and read it "off line." Nice if you pay for telco or ISP time. <:)=

IN MSIE %, click [History], then TB2000 -- in MSIE 4, click [File], then TB2000.
