An actual Ted Kennedy joke that was funny (no kidding)

Caught Ted live on CSPAN for a few minutes as he addressed some large audience and he actually told a funny joke (and he wasn't drunk):

He was touring the midwest with his brother Bobby, stumping for Bobby's presidency along with several other ranking people from the his brother Jack's cabinet. One of them, forget his name, was out walking Bobby's dog one night and Ted bumped into him on the street. He was shocked that such a high ranking officer in a cabinet could be relegated to dog walking functions, and asked him how he could do such a thing. As he put it he, Kennedy, said, "How in the world can you bring yourself to walk my brother's dog?" The cabinet officer looked down at the dog, then back at Kenneday and replied, "You see a dog? I see an embassy."

The above is proof that liberals have some brain cells that can still function. I didn't know that but thought I'd pass the word along.

He saw an embassy. I envisioned a tax-free principality!

I don't think it was a joke. I think he was plastered. You know how truthful people are when under the influence.

Even this slight glimpse takes us back to more innocent times.

Late last year my sister and mother traveled to MA and visited the Kennedy shrines. They were in awe. I was aghast when I learned of their travel time delayed because of foul weather. I guess they considered it worth the sacrifice. I think my sister is a closet Democrat. *gasp*

don't worry too much about your sister. it's probably just that atavistic yearning for aristocracy and monarchy that makes so many people worship airheads like the kennedys and princess di.
