Got gold options?

Gold up $11 midday. Wish we'd bought some options while they were cheap these last few days. Money would have doubled, but, alas, we weren't "in." Anybody do well today? Katy

I really don't get this market movement.

Stocks appeared to be stable, with interest rates falling. What the hell is gold doing up so high?

Must be getting manipulated again.

My Bloomberg sez...

Gold up $18 as of 11:30 west coast time.

Commodities seem to spend most of their time gently trending down in price, and a much smaller part spiking upwards to new short- or long- term highs. Contrast stockmarkets, which spend most of their time trending upwards to those highs, and a much smaller part of their time crashing to short- or long-term lows.

Anyone know why?

Try this on for size as an answer to why gold is going through the roof:

I'm not the sharpest knife in the box, or the steadiest leg on the table, or the best wheel on the car. But this thing with gold today smells looks dangerous. (And its a Friday hmmmm....) Justthink@stuff
