Xfers - let's see if I can get this right (ES)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Team SF : One Thread

Ok, here goes.
(1) I forgot above to mention the C$55 I also had.
(2) I owed Rob C$60 in non-BR funds.
(3) I had $2280.

To clear the debt to Rob, he "transfers" me C$60 -- he takes that much out of his stash, and I add C$60 to mine.
I have $2280 and C$115.

I forgot to hit CostCo tonight and so am desperately in need of toile . . . uh, Canadian currency, so I exchange it at today's rate, getting US$80 (approx -- actually less, but I hate dealing in pennies).
This leaves $2280 and $80, or $2360.

I transfer to DJ $2360 and he transfers car-repair information to me, ending with my having $0 and C$0 and the possibility of fixing my car on Saturday.

Please let me know if I've hosed the calculations anywhere.

(DJ)Transfer From Rosemary Complete

Received $2,360 from Ms. Titmouse which is added to my $474.50 already in possession. I was not much help with his car. Why does everyone think I know about cars just because I sometimes drive hard and fast? I know what it takes to set up a suspension and a few other things, but that's about it. My sage advice is that ES both needs and deserves a new car. DJ

You're right! (ES)

Ok. 25 cents of the money I forked over is really mine; the currency conversion really came out to $79.75 and fractions. I'd like you to find a nickel-slots "win a car" display, drop 'em in, and pull the handle. If the car is won, it's *MINE*. If not, well, I'll throw another 25 cents at you just so you don't have to report "$nnnn.75" for all eternity. :*)

No fears, I'll pay the taxes, and I'll even pay the bank back for the 1% or so of the car's value that represents the team's fraction of that 25 cents.

Such a deal! :*)

speaking of cars (PV)

DJ: I changed the suspension settings on the Maserati and really softened up the ride a lot. When I run over a dime now, I can still feel the jolt, but I can no longer tell if it's heads or tails. Come and see me and we'll go for a ride in the country. jim
