Im not pontificating here, Im just gonna be blunt:

I need a Co-Sysop for the discussion forum associated with the soon-to-be-published book, The Toilet Paper Chronicles: Gallows Humor from the Y2k Underground.

Credentials needed:

1. A person who believes--as I do--that it was nearly impossible for an average person to properly evaluate all of the expert opinions on Y2k prior to December 31, 1999.

2. A person who will accept that--with the exception of the most extreme publicly stated cases for or against the potential Y2k damage that could have occurred within the time period of January 1, 2000 - January 31, 2000--names will not be named.

3. A person who believes that every word spoken by a public servant, as in one whose salary is paid by taxpayers--is fair game.

Why do I believe #2 is important?

Because I learned many important lessons through this Y2k Experience.

Aside from the views of journalist Tom Benjamin (who asked many of the same questions that were in the back of my mind from the beginning of the public Y2k debate, all the way to the public beginning of the end of same--and who was not only courageous enough to absorb the answers, but ultimately admitted his faults) the person whose views most mirror my own is Steve Hewitt of Christian Computing Magazine. What I like about Steves essay, is that it proposes a no-fault kind of Y2k philosophy.

Like automobile insurance? I dunno. Maybe. At least I know there are worse things. (Maybe not in THIS life. Har!)

Back to the point: I am in serious need of Co-Sysop who can help me administer this new discussion forum for my book.

Because the forum is password protected, it potentially eliminates the possibility of the type of flame-wars that have been seen most recently on TB2000, and also Debunky.

Accordingly, the work involved should be minimal, although I NEED to know I can trust you. We may need to dance once or twice.

Experience with Phil Greenspuns Lusenet forum technology is not required. It is possible that I have plenty of--as Og Mandino once phrased it--Friends in High Places to see us through potential technology snafus, including the possibility that I may have been hacked tonight.
