What would you rather be doing?

I would rather be learning how to ski right now. I don't know why that came to my head, but it sounds really really good...Also, I wouldn't mind sleeping right now, or taking a time machine to the future and seeing what will happen after I graduate from college in March.

  1. Sleeping. Yeah, I'm an unoriginal bastard, but I've been only getting an average of 5 hours a night this week and I've been known to sleep 16 at times while I was just an unemployed student. Work sucks.
  2. Relearning Perl. Once upon a time, I was an HTML-whizzing, code-writing fiend. I don't think I've written a webpage in two years, though. Consequently all those skills I used to know have withered away, so my current quest is to regain all that geeky knowledge. I just bought a whizbang book "Teach Yourself Perl in 21 Days", but work has been so busy and lame lately ("Adam, I can't print, help me!") that I can't find the time to get started.
  3. Skiing. Yes, the weather still leaves something to be desired. If it doesn't snow again soon, Ginsu will become my new best friend.
  4. Travelling. I'm going to San Francisco. In March. Which...is... *gasp* a whole... month *ack* away *thud*
  5. Going to school. It's a crying shame that the local schools suck so hard. Now I've lost faith in college here, which leads me to...
  6. Moving to Seattle. I too can dream.

1. Sleeping. I ended up drinking White Russians until 2am last night. Not a smart plan.

2. Anything in Tahoe. This weekend, I'm going snowboarding/skiing for the first time this season. 'Bout time. :) *bounce* *bounce* *bounce* 5pm on Friday is too far away.

3. Snuggling with my kitties. Preferably along with #1.

4. Peter. 'Nuff said.

5. Riding my motorcycle. What with all the mess about replacing the bike title and trying to get insured, I'm rather antsy to actually ride the damn thing. Now it just needs to stop raining.

6. Entertain my guests.I have 3 different friends visiting within the next month, and I can't wait for them to get here. I love showing off my city and my friends and what I do. Yay!

7. Taking a shower. I didn't this morning. I think I still have blue dye on my forehead. :P

8. Travelling. I haven't done a road trip in a while. Maybe I'll drive up to Seattle this summer. (Note: No, Jan, this is not an "out" for you. You still have to come to SF.)

9. Sleeping.

10. Reading my new books.I finally bought new books last weekend, and I haven't had time to really get into them yet. Grrr.

11. Snorkelling. Peter and I are toying with the idea of going to the Cayman Islands for Thanksgiving this year. I haven't been there in years; I miss snorkelling with the sting rays.

12. Watching a movie in peace at Peter's place. This is absolute wistful thinking. Last night, I went over there to watch a movie. One of his roommates was on the computer, typing loudly. The other roommate was talking to his girlfriend, who was also on a computer. *My* roommate was there, talking with Peter's typing roommate. Two of our friends were there, playing Nintendo and talking. The Enternal Couch-Surfing "I'll Just Be Here For A Week" Houseguest was on yet another computer. I shall never watch a movie there in peace.

13. Sleeping.

14. Anything that's not work. I love my job; it's just been a really long last couple of weeks. We're busy 24/7 (literally) and it's making me really uptight.

15. Catapaulting a piano. My co-worker is talking about some guy who built a big catapault and started launching pianos. It sounds pretty fun. And it fits with #14.

OK, I think it's fairly self-evident that I'm reaching now. 15 is good enough. ;)

I realized I'm not thinking hard enough...
  1. Chatting at Mu. For those who don't know, don't ask... but they've been down all day and I'm getting anxious. =)
  2. Skydiving. I've always wanted to soar through the air! I had a chance to go last summer but came up short in cash... I don't care if there's a chance I could become one with the landscape, I think the possibility could add to the thrill.
  3. Making love down by the fire. Crap, how did that get there...
  4. Filling out my tax forms. I think there's one more W-2 remaining for me to get, from my previous job (which I hesitate to mention).
  5. Cashing in my tax refund. See previous entry.
  6. Exorcising personal demons. I'm sure everyone has a few of their own, so if you think this is a strange entry, maybe you should think about it a little.
  7. Saving the world. Too bad my gaudy spandex suit is still at the dry cleaners.

I would rather be having a cigarette (i don't smoke) on the beach in galveston, drinking rye and coke (coke and crown) out of a pewter hip flask, and musing about how the current state of the music industry is affecting my soul. Or sunbathing in Antigua.

This kind of list has been tossed around my head ever since I was 14 and realised how much I hated school.

1. Writing a movie Because I just want to.

2. Doing stuff with my friends Because who has time anymore?

3. Watching China Beach I could watch that all day and not get sick of it.

4. Travelling around Asia Speaking of Vietnam. Travelling around anywhere actually, would be nice.

5. Getting my hair done I always feel so luxurious having other people do my hair, and by the end when it comes out all beautiful and I feel so much the sex kitten.. words don't describe it.

6. Riding a bike I havent done this for ages.. mainly because I'd look stupid unless I was wearing biking gear, in which I'd FEEL stupid.

7. Sitting somewhere quiet, on my own Living in a big city, this is so rare. Even the "quiet, isolated" places are noisy and crowded.

I can only ever come up with 7. But just those 7 will do me fine :).
