How to make my own PBC compatible VCD? : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have a PHILIPS portable VCD player, and it is written in the user's manual that this player is a PBC compatible, what I noticed that if there is a menu for the VCD that is playing the player will show it on tv, and I can make my choice from it. So,What does PBC stands for, and how can I make my own vcds to be PBc compatible?

thanks :)

PBC = Playback Control You can create your own VCD with PBC using WinonCD + VideoPack.

If you play in PBC mode, it will make full use of VCD Version 2.0 features, such as Menu and Chapters etc.

You probably can toggle a switch to play in Normal mode, which provides the VCD Version 1.1 features, such as jumping to any tracks, but Menu will be disabled. In this mode you cannot jump by chapters during a feature movie, but can jump by using time or goto feature.

If your VCD is made with Menu or Chapters and is Version 2.0, it is PBC compatible.

A "gremlin" has struck at my previous posting here. The following are corrections to the nonsense words:

BC? = "PBC"

ormal? = "Normal"

ime? = "time"

oto? = "goto"
