Aircraft is re-identified as being an MD-80 (DC-9). Alaskan Airlines as I recall doesn't have anything but some 727s and DC-9/MD-80 series.

WW:

A Boeing press release:

" Alaska Airlines Places Boeing 737 Order SEATTLE, Sept. 19, 1996 -- Boeing Commercial Airplane Group today confirmed an order by Alaska Airlines for 12 Boeing 737-400s with an option to acquire up to 12 more. The value of the order, based on the published list price, is approximately $540 million."

Best wishes from one just off of a MD-80,

How do you know that George?

Today is the last day of the month. Maybe it is a Y2K.08333 problem.

LA TV news has just shown an Alaska Airlines rep holding a news conference. He stated that the pilot had radioed that they were having a stabilizer problem and they wanted to make an emergency landing at LAX. They didn't make it. Haven't there been some recent posts about stabilizer problems?
