standard deviation?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : UR General Chemistry : One Thread

For the calorimetry chem lab, there is a part in question 1 that asks for the standard deviation of the delt H calculations. Being thoroughly out of practice with doing standard deviation calculations, can anyone explain to me what to do? HELP!!!!

Look in Appendix 1.5 in Zumdahl and just follow the example there :)

If you own a TI-82 I can help you. Just press and then and enter the data into a column. Then exit the list and press again. Move the cursor over to the section. Perform 1-variable calculations on your data. One of the results will be the standard deviation. I believe the symbol used is a sigma for the result.

Of course the buttons to press did not show up in my response. Press the STAT button is what should have appeared.
