Camera is on and has new batteries. Have connected camera via serial cable which came with camera. Apple talk is off. I have gone through all the troubleshooting in the manual and am ready to return the camera. Can anyone

Try resetting the parameter RAM. Restart the computer and hold down the Command, Option, P and R keys until the computer bongs for the third time. Check the Chooser and turn AppleTalk off again if necessary. Check your camera's software and make sure you have the software set to the proper port. On the 6500 the printer port and the modem port use the same cable, so you have to make sure you're routing the signal to the port the cables is plugged into.

Also, make sure the serial cable you're using is a Peripheral 8 cable and not a DIN-8 cable. The wires are connected differently.
