AT&T's Global Network Internet service experiences disruptions BEDMINSTER, N.J. (AP) - Some computer users around the nation who use AT&T's Global Network were unable to access the Internet on Friday night, a company official said. AT&T spokesman David Johnson said the disruption began at about 6:45 p.m. EST. Service for most customers was restored at about 10:15 p.m., Johnson said.

Technicians and engineers were still trying to determine what caused the problem, he said.

Johnson said it was nearly impossible to tell how many customers were affected because computer users have various ways to access the Internet.

"They might have three or four different numbers they try," he said. "There are so many multiple routes for accessing the Internet."

Johnson said most of AT&T's customers who use the company for Internet access do so through the Worldnet Service, which was not affected.
