How Can The Story Be From 1850?

Hi, i am an english student in dubai, UAE, an i am doing a research project on one of Edgar Allen Poe's short stories: The Thousand and Second Tale of Scheherazade. I was just wondering that since he died in 1849, how could the story be from 1850? please let me know.

Answers

My bibliographical texts denote that the story was originally publish in Godey's Lady's Book in February of 1845 and later in the Broadway Journal on October 25th 1845. Both are in his lifetime.
