Mindspring Enterprises Equipment Failure Leaves 1 million customers without e-mail

Equipment failure at [MindSpring Enterprises] left more than 1 million computer users unable to send or receive e-mail for about two hours Thursday. Technicians finished repairs by midafternoon, but customers continued to experience slower service.

ah HA!

hubby and i email back and forth every day here at home, even tho we're only 25' or so apart......(easier than zip disk exchanging, and we don't have ethernet set up yet)

he is on mindspring, and i use a more local provider

for the last week or so, he's been sending me mail that doesn't get here......sometimes i get it....sometimes i don't

didn't know if it was trouble on my end or his........but this kinda slants it toward a mindspring problem

gonna have to keep an eye on this one

btw, carl.....let me add my thanks to all the other's for the posting you do here......helps keep us on top of what's happening

Again? Didnt MS have a big failure 1st wk of Jan?

I'm using Mindspring, and haven't had a problem. My hub is Atlanta, maybe the break was somewhere else. I thought the Internet had redundant paths so no node failure could mess it up...?
