OT, for Preparedness crew, on Anthrax Skin Sore

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I was reading an article on Anthrax, which is pasted largely from the Merk manual and has dosing for treatments. Sounds like it is most effective to treat after skin contact, prior to it spreading to your lungs. (This is of course for patients who have first contracted it by touch; usually from an animal or animal droppings).

Anyway, I tracked down an html on the sore (which is real distinctive), so folks in a survival situation without emergency room access can know what to do.

Here is the sore:

Here is the one page article with dosing, and where to get the medicine:

BTW, even if you DO have ED/ER experience, if it's urban you won't have seen one.

Thanks Possible Impact, and thanks Chuck, I wasn't sure if it was appropriate, but thought it might empower some folks, so went ahead anyway. I appreciate the kind word.

Hokie, Have been doing as much research as I have time to do on Colloidal Silver but still nothing conclusive. I have listened to programs on new silver treatments for burn victims, diabetics...mostly FDA approved Topical applications. There's a relatively new product out called Silvalon (I think) which has withstood FDA scrutiny. What are your thoughts re. ionic/suspension(colloidal) for a broad spectrum antibiotic for internal/topical use in an emergency. I know about the "Grey Lady" but I think she was taking a silver protein (Wheat?).She's not even sure what the doctor was giving her. Have heard particle size .01-.001micron in 3-5 PPM is suggested. I'm thinking about experimenting using distilled water and using a fairly sophisticated power supply (30VDC @ x?amperage). Have you looked into this?

Larry, I've heard colloidal silver is also anti-fungal and anti- viral, like pau darco. I've been planning to give CS a try myself, and intend to build the homemade model.

I've heard of a hand full of grey cases attributed to over dosing, but I figure the grey effect would be the rage on goth-industrial night anyway, so what the heck. The only explanation I've heard of the grey is that silver elements are stored in the fatty tissue under the skin if the dose exceeds the amount your body is able to safely flush.

Oh, another benefit occurs to me. You know those new low-dose x-ray machines they have at the major airports that make you appear nude? Well I wonder what kind of peep show the "grey" would cause, if it is infact a build-up of silver in the fatty tissue?

Final thought...This grey effect has only been cosmetic so far. I've heard addicts mention of feeling a buzz during times of rapid weight loss, and it is rumored to be an effect of the breakdown of bodyfat releasing the stored compounds into the blood. I wonder IF the effective compounds from colloidal silver are stored in bodyfat, then if you are undergoing a time of famine or even wasting from illness, might the release from that fat of those colloidal silver compounds enhance your ability to ward off some illnesses during such a vulnerable period?

Final irony: If I overdose and turn grey, I can embark on a stress- free life in showbiz playing an alien half-breed, heh.
