new EOS body EON 1v ?

Hi All

I'm a resident of Thailand. This morning I heard about new EOS body will be released soon in a name "EOS 1v" is it confirmed in States? I don't know where they get a new from so I come to a forum to find out a clue... if anyone have a link to an informatation site please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Well, in the Canon USA web site, they make no mention of it. If anyone is going to let you know as soon as possible, it would be Canon themselves. Checking their web site regularly might be a good idea, until the money burns a hole in your pocket and you just get an EOS 5 and spend the next five months until any new cameras release taking actual pictures...

There is a lot of talk including specs on the website www.deja.com/=hp1_0999/group/rec.photo.equipment.35mm

There has been a lot of talk on the rec.photo.equipment.35mm usenet group. It was announced in france (although I havn't seen an official source). The stats are here: (unfortunately in french, but you can still figure most of it out)

Short: -Same AF system as EOS 3 minus Eye Controled Focus -Same exposure system as EOS 3 -Back (standard) imprints roll ID number on leader of film and records exposure details in camera (can be downloaded to computer and correlated with ID number) similar to Nikon's F5, F100 and F90x -EOS 3 Flash system -100% Viewfinder -Similar design/build to EOS 1n - ~$2600USD -9 or 10 fps maximum advance (on normal version)
