FOCUS-One dead, 14 injured in Russian train crash (Reuters) Ok here is an update I could cut out:

(Releads with new death toll, no one trapped) MOSCOW, Jan 26 (Reuters) - One man died and 14 were injured when a passenger train and a freight train collided in northwest Russia on Wednesday, the Emergencies Ministry said. A ministry spokesman said all passengers escaped without serious injury, despite an earlier report by Interfax news agency that nearly 60 people were trapped in two carriages. - Jan 26 3:15 AM EST

snip NTV commercial television said a malfunction in the traffic control system, caused by cold weather, might be to blame.

Parts of Russia are enduring a mid-winter cold snap, common at this time of year, with temperatures falling as low as minus 25 Celsius (minus 13 Fahrenheit) at night. snip

NOTICE "malfunction in the traffic control system"

also, this weather is normal for this time of year in that area. would it be expected to cause this kind of problem? anyone know?
