The propane guy filled our tanks today. Ouch! He was last here on Jan. 3 and the cost was Cdn$0.34.9/litre. Today it was Cdn$0.49.7/litre! That's a 42.4% increase in exactly 3 weeks. OUCH!!!

Well,Pollies, My sizable stash of cheap propane ratholed for y2k just saved me 41 cents for every gallon I would have to pay if I was refilling now-------It sure pays to prepare! After oil goes sky high just wait to see what you'll be paying for groceries, Me ,I don't have to go into the market for at least 6 months,oh yah and I won't need to fill up with gas or oil for the next 8 months, Markets going south--But you all know y2k had NO effect!Bahhahahahahaha

Happy:

While your preparations may have been prudent (and I have no reason to think that they were not), rising prices are good news for noone, even for folks who may be right about some Y2k things. I am not happy about the prospect of rising prices. Nobody should be.

Regards

Well, I bought 500 gallons of propane in May at $0.62/gallon. Haven't used a bit of it (as yet). It's alternative fuel for the furnace and generator, both of which normally run on natural gas. I feel better already.

Also have that supply of "cheap gas" from early fall, which I am starting to use now, as a supplement to the more expensive "store- bought" stuff.

And all that "cheap" food that we bought throughout the year will sure come in handy when the in-store prices go through the roof, as inflation ignites under force of expensive fuel costs.

Yup. No Y2K problems for us. But our family budget sure is better off, a trend which can only accelerate as the winter drags on. Preps? What a STUPID concept. It's only a "three day storm..."

I'm sitting on about 80 gals (250lbs) of 'cheap' propane, at our past usage, about 2 years worth. Hate I wasted that money and effort.

I just priced propane with my supplier. In NE Indiana. Was 67 cents in Dec. when I got topped off. Today, it is 98 cents a gallon. Glad I have a 1000 gal. tank. Will wait to top off again! Regards,
