Fire breaks out at motor plant The Times of India News Service NOIDA: A major fire broke out at the Escorts Yamaha Motors plant at Surajpur in Noida at 10.25 pm on Saturday due to failure of cable in a power house resulting in extensive damage to the cables, electrical equipment and buildings in processing area. While the extent of damage is being assessed, rough estimates point to loss in crores. Nobody was injured. A major disaster was however averted as fire brigades from Noida, Phase-Ii, Daewoo Motors were able to control the fire with timely and prompt action of employees, on duty and the support of local administration. Plant will take a few weeks to resume full production. Partial production will be started within three days.
