Quality of Agfa's Customer Service

Twice now I have been trying to get technical information on one of their products from Agfa via their web server (www.agfaphoto.com), and twice have I failed to receive any reply at all. Has anyone got similar experience?

Yes, I've got the same rate, two questions no answer. After 2 hours on the phone, I finally got my APX 200 S datasheet. Rang up my local dealer to order 135/10m and gave him the order code. A week later he told me film is not available in Germany! Rang up Agfa Marketing to verify. Film is available but not promoted. To cut the story short, I ordered a similar film from Ilford. (BTW excellent service, Mr. Schneege is doing a fine job)

Better forget the sales stuff and marketing folks, but if you're lucky you may find someone in the R&D department, who is willing AND able to answer your question.

What is the product and the question?

Kind regards,

Wolfram Kollig

I wrote to Agfa once to complain about their removing Brovira fiber paper from the market. The person who responded was very polite, but exhibited zero knowledge of the properties of the paper, suggesting that I try Insignia instead. I gave up trying to obtain useful information from them.

I received two different batches of 120 size Agfa 25 that had big hunks of emulsion flaking off them on the last frames. I sent the frames to Agfa and was told there was no way that could happen in the film making process, that my processing must be at fault.

You know, I think Ilford Pan F 50 looks just as good, not to mention the extra stop of speed, and I hope if I ever have a similar problem with Pan F, Ilford will take responsibility and stand behind their product.
