I would like to know if poodles are non-allergenic and if they go good withpeople that are allergic to animals?

My experience has been that people with allergies to dogs and cats will have less reactions to poodles. However, my Standards run through fields, pick up dust kittens from under the bed, and generally are fairly good magnets for allergy producing mites and tikes!

Yes, Poodles are non-allergenic. I have a Standard and my husband and I both have bad allergies. My poodle doesn't shed, or smell, or have any dander that bothers us. I used to have an Irish Wolfhound, and a cat as well. Needless to say when my husband started wheezing at night I decided to give the Irish Wolfhound and the cat to a good home and we kept the Poodle. Now with all the pet hair cleaned up and just the poodle in the house we notice a huge difference. I highly recommend Poodles to anyone with allergies, but also recommend to go to a speciality show or meet one in person and see for yourself if they affect you. When purchasing a dog always research the breed thoroughly before you consider buying one and talk to several reputable breeders. Good luck.
