QV2000ux Software for Win95

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have Windows 95. They sent me software for strictly Windows 98. If you look at your CD-ROM what does it say on it? I can't get Casio to respond to me. The instillation directions along with the box it came in said the software is good for Win95,98 and NT. What is your operating system? If it would be possible if you have the software I need... and you would find it in your heart to let me borrow it. Or if you have Win98 we could even make a trade. I will also send what ever the shipping cost are. I know a guy who has a CD writer that I could copy it in case I ever loose my hardrive. I and my family would really appreciate this. As you know the camera wasn't cheap. Your Truly, Rich Pratt

If you haven't, I would try installing the software anyway. It might work just fine on Win95. I think most programs that will run on 98 will run on 95. Win95 doesn't support the USB. Maybe this feature of the software won't work but you won't miss that since you don't have USB on your win95 computer.

It seems to be a popular misconception that Win95 doesn't support USB. Version OSR2 and above (i.e. ALL non-retail versions) can be made to recognise USB with the addition of a file called USBSUPP.EXE, a fact that Microsoft seems keen to supress, since USBSUPP is no longer available at their web-site.

usbsupp.exe

But I've linked to:usbsupp.exe here

(Hope I got that right Des)

I didn't even look at the CD, and I loaded it on Win95 and Win98 with no problems. Feel free to reply back. By the way, I'm absolutely thrilled with my pictures!
