Does anyone know what the maximum dimensions are for a bag that will fit *under* the seat, not in the overhead bin. Presumably the under-seat area is smaller. I've been on a flight in which the overhead bins were full and I had trouble stuffing my carry-on under the seat in front of me. I would prefer to buy a bag that will fit under the seat because that area is guaranteed to be empty. Thanks, R.C.

Most airlines carry ons can be no larger than 9 x 14 x 22. I have read elsewhere to gaurantee an under the seat fit you should go with 7 x 14 x 21. You might also check individual airline websites. They usually provide that inf
