does anyone know what this is all about?

ND National Guard Going To Venezuela Air Date: 01/20/00

A new North Dakota National Guard mission to Venezuela is considered risky. But Guard commander Keith Bjerke says the problem shouldn't come from hostile attitudes toward Americans. Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez has turned down an offer of construction help from American military engineers. Chavez doesn't like the idea of having US soldiers in his country. 22 North Dakota guard soldiers are going to Venezuela in 2 weeks. They'll be doing water purification work. Bjerke says the risk of the mission is from people who are desperate for drinking water. He says there might be problems with theft, and with people who are looking for extra water.

WTF?!!!!!!!!!

"Peace Keeping Mission" is just a euphemism for "Going to War." It keeps the press quiet, and calms down the public, because it sounds like something the Justice League of America does. Only, when the military does it, they take guns, bombs, and bullets, and have plans to hurt people and break things.

Geniuses,

Um, remember when 30,000 people (or whatever the heck the total is, they're not sure) were killed by massive flooding and landslides a little while ago in Venezuela?

Sheesh. Call me insane, but I'll guess the ND National Guard mission has something to do with that...

I know many of you want this article translated into something like: "ND Guardsman are an advance team setting up base camps that are to be used to protect oil refineries and their eventual takeover by the UN in the impending world war over oil." and possibly include: "The only water purification these soldiers will be doing is providing water for the soon arriving NWO armies."

With that out of the way, and the fact that this deployment has nothing to do with y2k or oil, I think Krempasky is 100% correct in his assessment. NG troops from the upper midwest are noted for their engineering skills and are often called upon to do humanitarian work.

Please, let's take this article at it's face value. There is nothing to read into it or between the lines. KX4 is not a propaganda machine for some conspiracy.

On this issue, I think John is correct.

They are members of the "C" company First Battalion of the 167th Infantry. They'll head to Colorado for a week of testing, then will be shipped to Saudi Arabia as part of "Operation Southern Watch." Their mission will be to guard the "Patriot Missile" batteries that defend against missile attacks from Iraq. This is the first combat activation for an Oregon Army National Guard unit in almost 60-years.
