Y2K Oil crisis stress kills developer of the "Hemi" engine

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Of course the obituary doesn't mention Y2K, but we all know what "really" caused this cultural hero's untimely death. For this brave man's family, Y2K really is the TEOTWATheyKI. A sad day indeed.

Red Neck! I find your use of a person's demise as some sort of a trollish joke. To be utterable macarbe for a human being to do! But apparently nothing, not even the passing of a loving father, a beloved husband. And a person who by his efforts gave the 60's generation a motor which gave so many so much fun to so many. Nothing apparently is beneath a person such as you are. I feel sad for you.

Shakey - I supposed you're the type to pick a fight with a priest in the middle of his homily!

Phil... I had assumed that you were attempting some sort of failed dark humour here, but are you really claiming that this is a Y2K induced death? Seriously? Care to explain your reasoning? Or are you just yanking our chains?

Followers of the Pentastar are very down-hearted. Real motorheads, Chrysler fanatics or not are saddened by the loss of a true engineering genius.

"And on the eighth day, God created the HEMI" was a saying amongst racers and fans in the late 60's and early 70's. Having seen some awesome displays of power by Hemi-powered vehicles, I do wonder if someone wasn't devinely inspired when he put pen to blueprint paper.
