preventing fade in inkjet photos

Is there any method for preserving inkjet pintouts (for framing, etc.)? It seems like there would be some kind of spray or something like that, but I've never heard of it.

There are several. One is "Liquilam", another is "Bulldog". Both are available at various places, I've purchased them along with archival inks, etc. from MIS Supply, (a good company to deal with). Check them out at www.missupply.com The coatings are basically an aerosol vinyl with UV inhibitors. They will prolong ink jet print life by about double.

UV will turn your skin into leather, fade the paint on your car, and ruin a photograph. (Please note that halogen office lights are filtered to reduce UV - so stop worrying!)

So, what - you intend on putting your inkjet photos outside in the sun? NOT!

I have inkjet photos 3 years old in frames that look great! They show NO FADE! - that is HP, Apple color stylewriter, and Epson. Glass filters UV! Yes, regular glass. Not 100% but STOP WORRYING!

Yes, I use Krylon UV-resistant CLEAR acrylic coating #1305. Art stores have it. $8 a can. Lightly spray the prints laying on cardboard. Repeat with 3-4 layers. Frame. Enjoy!

Archival inks? Bend over and give us your wallet.... Think - notice how the technology keeps gettng better and prices keep going down? DUH! In a few years you will be reprinting all your photos anyway with the hottest newest technologies for a fraction of todays costs. It's all going to get easier and cheaper so concern yourself with archiving you digital files. Get it? The print is the easy part. The digital file is the thing you want to pre
